Large Kalamkari Block Print Cotton Square Scarf - Oxalis

The Oxalis plant is beautiful with triangular leaves and dusky pink blooms. The scarf explodes with blossoms and has a smoky grey ground. It pairs well with outdoor vests, coats and jackets giving a stylish look when you step out on a brisk day. 
The scarf has been wood block printed by hand in the Kalamkari Style. The dyes are made from natural materials like plants, roots, leaves, flowers along with mineral salts like Iron, tin, alum which are used as mordants. The process of printing kalamkari is very elaborate. It involves hand block printing, boiling in water, washing in running water, drying and curing under the sun. The process is ancient and done in an old port city on the Bay of Bengal.

The fabric is fine Cotton Mulmul, very luxurious and comfortable to wear near the skin.
The scarf measures approximately 45" x 45". It makes a fabulous, unique and artistic gift.
Machine wash cold and on a delicate setting. Wash with similar or darker colors. Line dry.
