Large Square Scarf - Cha Cha Cha

The pomegranate hued Cha Cha Cha scarf quite literally does a dance. The exuberant color lifts the Indigo paisley print and the border is a beautiful rhythm in itself. 
The scarf has been wood block printed by hand in the Kalamkari Style. The dyes are made from natural materials like plants, roots, leaves, flowers along with mineral salts like Iron, tin, alum which are used as mordants. The process of printing kalamkari is very elaborate. It involves hand block printing, boiling in water, washing in running water, drying and curing under the sun. The process is ancient and done in an old port city on the Bay of Bengal. 
At Peaceware, we try to work with genuine kalamkari Artisans as a way to preserve this ancient craft and so bring you these very special pieces.
The fabric is fine Cotton Mulmul, very luxurious and comfortable to wear near the skin.
The scarf measures approximately 45" x 45"
Machine wash cold and on a delicate setting. Wash with similar or darker colors. Plant dyes tend to fade slightly as they settle into the cloth. It is natural for this to happen. Line dry.
